We showed him the house we desperately like (current house) and he said we'll make it work. "We moved here from the mid-west and thought we knew what we were looking for in a home and area. It was a challenge because not every home or location met all of our criteria. We probably looked at about 50 +/- homes. Duke's knowledge of the homes and the area was critical to our search and kept us from wasting time and effort. In the beginning we even went to a few houses he recommend we avoid, to see for ourselves (trust but verify), and he was spot on about it not being a home we would be interested in for various reasons. Duke was available when ever we called, and sometimes I called kinda late at night. He sent us listings as soon as they opened up. Then several times got us into houses we saw that had a sign in the yard but hadn't posted online yet. It can take some time to find a home in the Williamsburg area due to the transient nature of all the military and contractors in the area, but have patience and let Duke and his assistant, Frankie, do all the hard work for you so you can concentrate on whats important. Once we found a home that worked for us Duke was right there with me in thinking we needed to get the most meticulous home inspector to check everything out from top to bottom. My concerns for health, safety, and costly repairs were his concerns as well. Then when it was time to negotiate the sale price I discovered Duke was even more aggressive than I. I was amazed and happy when we got it for the price we wanted along with the repairs and discounts which amounted to around $20,000. I wholeheartedly recommend Duke to anyone looking for a home here and often do. I carry around a few of his cards and give them out when I meet people looking to buy a home here."
